She began taking voice lessons and soon released her first album , 'Dancin' On the Edge'. Ford disappeared from the world of music for some years following both albums failing to garner much acclaim. In 1988, she released her smashing success album 'Lita.' Kiss Me Deadly was her biggest hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, the success in her professional career was not long-lasting and over a long period of time she was not in the entertainment industry. In 1995, she released 'Black and a few years later, 'Wicked Wonderland" came out, and she was back. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
