Despacito, a song by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi together with Daddy Yankee was released in 2017. It was the top streaming music of that period within the space of six months. It was a combination of reggaeton and pop that not only drew attention to Latin Music, but also reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 in 2015 had two songs that were mostly Spanish and in 2016 there were four. In the midst of Despacito's fame in the year 2017, there were 19 mostly Spanish tracks which made it into the Top 100. Then in 2020 it was 41. Justin Bieber re-mixed Despacito with a Spanish version in 2017. In the year following, popular artists began working with reggaeton artists. Drake teamed with Bad Bunny to produce MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked on Medellin with Maluma (2019). In 2020, several Reggaeton musicians were complaining about the advancing of their genre to the mainstream. Yet, a young generation, such as Rauw Alejandro was keen to maintain the development. Rauw Alejandro incorporated electronic dance forms and others into his music.
